Numerous MSU events set for Women’s History Month

STARKVILLE, Miss.—Mississippi State will celebrate Women’s History Month throughout March with a variety of events, including presentations on and discussions about important women’s issues and numerous networking and community-building activities.
The first of three Women’s Health Luncheon Series events kicks off the month with a discussion on the history of women’s health care beginning March 1 at 11:30 a.m. in Mitchell Memorial Library’s John Grisham Room. Two other luncheons—March 8’s presentation, “Healthcare for the Whole Woman,” and “Medical Care as Self-Care” on March 22—are scheduled for the same time and location later this month. Sports fans can cheer on the Bulldog women’s teams all month with free admission to games and matches. Events include March 3 tennis matches against the University of Kentucky; softball games during the March 3-5 Alex Wilcox Memorial Weekend and the March 9-12 Bulldog Invitational; and track and field’s Bulldog Relays, scheduled for March 23-25. The Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion will present “Our Voice, Our Insights: A Panel on Empowering Women” March 20 at 11:30 a.m. at Memorial Hall’s Coskrey Auditorium. The Women’s History Month tribute “You Are Appreciated, We Are Inspired” will be held March 23 at 11 a.m. on the Drill Field, where attendees may write letters of appreciation to women faculty, staff and friends who have helped, inspired and supported them during their time at MSU. Sponsored by the offices of Fraternity and Sorority Life and Survivor Support, the event’s rain location is the Union’s first floor.
The annual Women’s Empowerment Brunch will be held March 25 at noon at the Bost Extension Center. Hosted by I.D.E.A.L.
