MSU Department of Music faculty present French-themed recital

STARKVILLE, Miss.—Three Mississippi State Department of Music faculty members and their special guests will perform the recital “Voulez-Vous Français Avec Moi?” 7:30 p.m., Monday [Oct. 24] in the Music Building’s Lecture-Recital Hall.

PosterThe recital—featuring Associate Professor Jeanette Fontaine, Assistant Professor Roza Tulyaganova and Instructor Sophie Wang—is a collaboration with MSU Department of Classical and Modern Languages and Literatures’ French program. The faculty members will perform a variety of duets and solos from French vocal repertoire interspersed with historical information about the selections. English translations of original texts will be projected during the performances.

Special guests from the music department include Jason Baker, percussion professor; Jackie Edwards-Henry, retired piano and piano pedagogy professor; Anthony Kirkland, trumpet associate professor; and Daniel Stevens, department head and music professor. The recital’s visual art is provided by French illustrator Solène Debiès.

The event is open to the public, and admission is free.
