NSPARC seeking participants for golf research study

Mississippi State's National Strategic Planning and Analysis Research Center is seeking participants for its study designed to collect 2D and 3D golf swing data.

Those who meet the following criteria are eligible to participate in the study:

  • male or female age 18 and older
  • have played golf for over 1 year
  • have no injury or previous injury in the last six months that has hindered your performance

Appointments for the study will be conducted July 13-15, and there is no cost to participate. Total time commitment for the study will be approximately 45 minutes on one day at the Starkville Country Club driving range.

Study organizers are looking to record participants' golf swing using three different clubs, a driver, mid-iron and wedge. They will use a biomechanical analysis of the golf swing during the study, which will include 3D motion capture, Foresight Launch Monitor, and 2D video.

Those interested in participating in the study are asked to please email their name and phone number to Tony Luczak, NSPARC assistant research professor, at tluczak@nsparc.msstate.edu
