Search continues for new Mississippi State University Dean of Libraries

The search for a new Mississippi State University Dean of Libraries will continue.

“The university is choosing new leadership in this important position for the first time in many years and our absolute priority is finding the best possible professional to fill that role,” said MSU Provost and Executive Vice President David R. Shaw. “I am grateful for the hard work of the search committee and appreciate their willingness to continue to serve as we work together to bring effective leadership to one of MSU’s most beloved institutions – the MSU Libraries.”

Shaw said that the work of the search committee would continue under the leadership of Executive Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Graduate School Peter Ryan.

Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and current Interim Dean of Libraries Tommy Anderson will continue to serve in that role. To facilitate that service, Dean of the Shackouls Honors College Dean Christopher Snyder will delay stepping down from that position until January 2022.

Anderson is slated to lead the Shackouls Honors College after permanent leadership for the MSU Libraries is chosen.
