MSU announces campus road closures, traffic flow modifications for week of Aug. 10-15

To maximize safety as students return to campus next week and move in to university residence halls, Mississippi State is modifying traffic flow plans for the week of Aug. 10-15, including some road closures.

Faculty, staff, students, parents and campus visitors should click here to reference this map to view how their campus routes may be impacted and plan accordingly. University leaders have modified student residential move-in plans (MVNU2MSU) this year to incorporate additional precautions as part of MSU’s Fall 2020 Comprehensive Health & Safety Return Plan. The list below also can help clarify these traffic plans:

Road closures:

  1. Bailey Howell Drive from George Perry Street to Barr Avenue
  2. Hurst Lane
  3. Ruby Lane
  4. George Perry Street from Bailey Howell Drive to Barr Avenue
  5. Walker Road
  6. Bully Boulevard from Fresh Foods Company to Presidents Circle
  7. Presidents Circle from Allen West gated lot to the Allen East lot
  8. Magruder Street
  9. Morgan Avenue

Parking lot closures:

  1. Staff at Memorial Hall (park in Barnes and Noble lot)
  2. Staff at McComas Hall (contact 662-325-0017 or email troberson@parkingtransit.msstate.edu for accommodations)
  3. Staff at Nusz Hall, Montgomery Center for America’s Veterans (park in Sanderson Center lot)
  4. Staff at Ruby and Griffis Halls (park in Critz lot)
  5. Staff at Fresh Foods (park in Commuter lot west of building)
  6. All residential lots

Additional notes:

  1. Allen West gated lot should be accessed from Creelman Street
  2. Allen East and Hand Lab gated lots should be accessed from Hardy Road
  3. Staff working in faculty houses on Morgan and Magruder Streets can enter through the checkpoint on Bully Boulevard with their Staff ID
