MSU seeks available laptops for student use

Mississippi State University will deliver online or other remote instructional course content for the remainder of the 2020 spring semester. In order to assist students and faculty needing access to laptop computers during this time, MSU President Mark E. Keenum is asking all MSU Directors and Department Head to check their equipment inventories for available laptop computers that can be put into service to assist those individuals.

MSU is seeking donations of functional laptops to facilitate work from home for students and faculty with specific needs that are not being met by their current computing hardware. Laptops eligible for donation should be current models that meet or exceed the following MSU minimum specifications:

Windows Or Apple Laptops

Operating System: Windows (any version), macOS 10.15 or greater

Processor: Intel Core i5 or comparable

Memory (RAM): 8 GB

Storage: 500 GB non SolidState Drive (SSD) or 250 GB SSD

Network Connectivity: Wireless (Dual-band, 802.11a/g/n)

Display Size: Any

Power cord: Must be included

Functional: Yes

Computers available for this purpose should be delivered to MSU’s Mitchell Memorial Library, Third Floor, Dean’s Suite.
