38 Special, The Molly Ringwalds taking the stage for MSU Music Maker Productions concert

STARKVILLE, Miss.—Mississippi State’s Music Maker Productions is presenting American rock band 38 Special featuring The Molly Ringwalds on April 22.
Free and open to the public, the national act takes the stage at 6 p.m. at the MSU Amphitheater on the Starkville campus.
Formed in 1974 in Jacksonville, Florida, 38 Special is comprised of lead singer Don Barnes, keyboardist Bobby Capps, drummer Gary “Madman” Moffatt, bassist Barry Dunaway and lead guitarist Jerry Riggs. Averaging 100 shows annually, the southern-rock outfit has been touring for three decades and has shared the stage with national acts Lynyrd Skynyrd, Hank Williams Jr., Styx, REO Speedwagon and more. The group has numerous Billboard Hot 100 hits, including the singles “Hold On Loosely,” “Caught Up In You” and “Teacher, Teacher.”
The Molly Ringwalds consist of lead singer Sir Devon Nooner, lead guitarist Platinum Randy Wilde, keyboardist Dickie English, bassist Lord Phillip Wang and drummer Sir Liam Thunders. Started in 1999 in New Orleans, the 80s tribute band specializes in covers of Duran Duran, David Bowie, Def Leopard and others. In addition to covering well-known 80s tracks, the band is known for taking the stage in eccentric attire and makeup inspired by Prince, Michael Jackson and Madonna.
