STARKVILLE, Miss.—Mississippi State students and alumni can explore career opportunities Thursday [April 4] while networking with employer representatives during the university’s spring Career Days event at Humphrey Coliseum.
The noon-4 p.m. free event will feature nearly 75 recruiters from around the country. Business attire is highly recommended, and participants of all academic majors are encouraged to bring several résumé copies.
Students and alumni can obtain a list of attending employer representatives upon arrival. MSU’s Career Center will provide a name tag with the participant’s academic major and class year, so students should ensure their profile on their “Connections” account at www.career.msstate.edu is updated.
Leslie Neal, manager of marketing and events for the Career Center, said the spring Career Days originally were scheduled for Jan. 29 and 30, but the Jan. 29 event was rescheduled after MSU’s weather-related closure.
“Having a big group of recruiters all in one location is the biggest benefit for students,” she said. “Even if they are not ready to graduate or looking for a full-time position, they still can take advantage of opportunities like this to prepare and practice. Recruiters are impressed with the quality of our students, and our students’ participation brings more and more recruiters back to campus.”
