STARKVILLE, Miss.—For more than 50 years, Mississippi State’s Department of Art has empowered students to explore and share their talents in creative ways. Eleven fine art seniors specializing in graphic design are presenting an end-of-the-semester exhibition that shows this departmental mission continues to ring true.
On display Dec. 4-10 at the university’s Visual Arts Center Gallery, “Parallels” celebrates the graduating class’ completion of studio work in MSU’s Department of Art, the state’s largest undergraduate studio art program. The gallery is located at 808 University Drive.
“‘Parallels’ celebrates the end of our collegiate journeys in the art department and the beginning of our ventures into infinite possibilities,” said student exhibitor Lori Nesbitt of Winona. “Follow us into parallel universes as we transport you into the world where our minds are most free—the creative world.”
In addition to physical displays, the students’ portfolio books and self-promotional pieces will be available for viewing on opening night. For a preview, visit www.parallels2018.com and follow on Facebook @Parallels2018MSU and Instagram @parallels2018.
A 6-7 p.m. opening reception in the students’ honor takes place Tuesday [Dec. 4] at the Visual Arts Center Gallery, where complimentary refreshments will be available.
Gallery hours are noon-5 p.m., Monday-Friday, and 1-4 p.m. Saturday.
