MSU online programs receive high marks in U.S. News & World Report rankings

STARKVILLE, Miss.—Four of Mississippi State University’s distance education programs are recognized in the 2018 U.S. News & World Report online programs rankings, with two programs ranking in the top 50 nationally in the analysis released Tuesday [Jan. 9].

The MSU College of Business’ Distance MBA program remains one of the best in the country at No. 22 in U.S. News’ Best Online MBA Program rankings, once again achieving the highest ranking of any online MBA program in Mississippi. The ranking also marks the fourth consecutive year MSU’s Distance MBA program has ranked in the top 25 nationally.

“Having nationally ranked programs by U.S. News illustrates that Mississippi State is providing a challenging and supportive online educational experience and preparing our distance students for success,” said MSU Center for Distance Education Executive Director Susan Seal.

“Additionally, students across Mississippi and the U.S. are recognizing MSU as a leader in online education as we are experiencing substantial enrollment growth in our online degree programs,” Seal added. “The MSU Center for Distance Education is working hand-in-hand with our faculty and staff to create a culture of quality and innovation while we expand opportunities by adding more academic degree programs to our online campus. It really is exciting that we provide students, regardless of location, the opportunity to earn a prestigious Mississippi State degree.”

MSU’s online graduate program in the Bagley College of Engineering continues to rank among the nation’s best, coming in at No. 49 in the 2018 rankings. The college offers seven online graduate programs. For more information, see http://www.bagley.msstate.edu/distance/.

The College of Education is once again ranked for its online graduate program. The 2018 rankings have MSU at No. 83, the highest ranking of any public institution in Mississippi.

The College of Business also was recognized for its Distance Master of Science in Information Systems (non-MBA), achieving a No. 87 ranking in 2018.
