STARKVILLE, Miss.—Twenty-three top Mississippi State students are leaders of the university’s 2017-18 orientation programs.

Working with the Office of Admissions and Scholarships, MSU Orientation Leaders provide assistance and share their knowledge of the 138-year-old land-grant institution with incoming freshmen and transfer students—and their parents—during each school year’s registration and information sessions.

Ranging from sophomores to seniors, members were selected through a rigorous screening process. This year, 78 students were considered.

The 2017-18 group includes (by hometown):

BILOXI—Haleigh K. Smith, a junior biological sciences/pre-dental major.

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama—Nicolas D. “Nick” Harris, a junior communication/public relations major.

BRANDON—Carol E. Dukes, a junior communication/public relations major.

CARUTHERSVILLE, Missouri—Anne Marie Currie, a junior biochemistry/pre-dental major.

CLARKSDALE—Dardanius L. “J.R.” Coleman, a sophomore communication/broadcasting major.

DYERSBURG, Tennessee—Suzanne T. Schultz, a senior agricultural information science/agricultural leadership major.

GREENVILLE—Kendall E. Fiser, a senior communication/public relations major.

GULFPORT—Allison G. “Allie” Nichols, a sophomore secondary education/English education major.

HATTIESBURG—Anna C. “Katie” Bostick, a sophomore pre-accounting major.

JACKSON—Phyliceia Z.A. “FeFe” Brown, a junior communication/broadcasting and public relations major; and Jacquelyn E. Massey, a junior communication/public relations major.

KENNESAW, Georgia—Grady P. Miller, a sophomore civil engineering major.

MADISON—Ian D.
