MSU to auction off military appreciation football jerseys, portion of proceeds go to MSU Center for America's Veterans on campus

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Mississippi State Athletics is auctioning off its Military Appreciation Day Adidas football jerseys that the Bulldogs donned in a 35-28 victory over No. 4 Texas A&M on Nov. 5. A portion of the proceeds will go directly to the G.V. "Sonny" Montgomery Center for America's Veterans on the Mississippi State campus.

The online auction goes live at 5 p.m. Friday on HailState.com/auctions. The minimum bid starts at $500.

The special black Adidas jersey features silver stars and stripes on the shoulders and the Mississippi State wordmark across the chest. The jerseys can be customized with a name on the back.

The Center for America's Veterans honors the legacy of the 1943 Mississippi State alumnus and 15-term U.S. congressman who authored the Montgomery G.I. Bill. "Sonny" Montgomery's leadership, statesmanship and public service enhanced the lives of generations of Americans, particularly veterans of military service.

Since 2006, the center has become a national leader in providing a campus based veteran resource center in support of student veterans, service members, dependents and survivors-often referred to as the student VSDS population.
