Studying art in Italy
MSU students in a College of Architecture, Art and Design study abroad program are finishing their time in Rome, Italy, after arriving in late June. Based at the University of Arkansas Rome Center, 14 MSU architecture, interior design and art students have been experiencing the epicenter of ancient, classical and modern creative heritage while earning credit for a poster image studio course and art history course taught by MSU faculty Jamie Burwell Mixon and Ben Harvey. The group also spent three days in Florence with additional guided field trips and visits to historic sites and museums. The courses will culminate with an exhibition of student and faculty work on campus this spring. Study abroad courses have become a common stepping stone included in many MSU students' collegiate experiences. Click here for more on MSU study abroad opportunities.
