Marshmallow Challenge: Easy Does It
As the concluding exercise in Renee Clary’s fall True Maroon class, First Year Experience students were asked to use uncooked spaghetti strands, tape and string to construct the tallest structure that could support a marshmallow. Among those employing the lightest of touches on the timed assignment were (l-r) Nicholas Nguyen of Florence; Linden Thomas of West Columbia, South Carolina; Daija Coffey of Grenada; and Taelyr Harris of Petal. Clary (not pictured) is an associate professor of geosciences.
