New Maroon Camp - Opening Assembly
More than 240 first-year students at Mississippi State University enjoy an evening assembly focused on MSU's history and traditions during New Maroon Camp. In its second year, New Maroon Camp is a four-day, three-night experience designed to provide interested freshmen and transfer students with information about MSU. It also divides students into family groups, where they will spend the week developing meaningful relationships with their counselors and peers through team building activities and group discussions. The camp began Aug. 4 and will conclude Aug. 8 when campers will join other volunteers to help with move-in day for on-campus residents.
