Candles for MLK
On Wednesday evening, Mississippi State students gathered in front of the Y.M.C.A. Building, listened to a reading of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech, sang spiritual songs and participated in a civil rights march by candlelight. The activity, sponsored by the Black Student Association, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and Holmes Cultural Diversity Center, was only one of Mississippi State's many memorials held this week to commemorate the life and ideals of King.
